2016 "Pavé" Grenache

30.00

Pavé was harvested from the famous “Rocks District”, near Walla Walla, WA where ancient river cobblestones litter the ground, much like those in the Rhone Valley.  The wine sports a shimmering, translucent garnet color. The nose starts off with a delicate aroma suggesting minerals and dark, sweet flowers. A careful sniff discovers citrus rind, ripe grapefruit, and sweet spices like licorice root and allspice. The palate is supple and juicy, with flavors of ripe blood orange, boysenberry, black currant, and Concord grape dripping from the glass. The mid palate sweetens up with jams of raspberry and blackberry, and fresh pomegranate juice. The finish delivers fruit leather and cinnamon stick, and the tannins suggest both dark chocolate and leather.
